Clinical psychologists are trained over a number of years in a range of therapeutic theories and treatment approaches. My own therapeutic style is underpinned by my knowledge of attachment theory and how our formative years influence our psychological development. Alongside this, I have received additional training and specialise in using the following interventions and frameworks.
THERAPIES OFFERED
CBT
Linking our thinking styles to our feelings and actions
(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
NICE recommended for a range of difficulties, including anxiety and depressive disorders, and PTSD
EMDR
A highly effective treatment for trauma
(Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
NICE recommended for PTSD, but also used with some other difficulties with good effect
CAT
A framework for determining the patterns in our relationships that are unhelpful or destructive
(Cognitive Analytical Therapy)
Can be used to help people identify patterns in relationships over time, as well as determining what forms of therapy may be most effective
CFT
How we consider our self and respond to our personal needs and desires
(Compassion Focused Therapy)
A useful therapy for the treatment of low self-esteem and can be incorporated into CBT
(I only work online using Zoom, so I will be able to work with you in the safety and comfort of your chosen space.)
